Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Virtelo's Henrique Lopes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Jacinto Leite fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Virtelo's protests and gave Jacinto Leite a yellow card for diving instead. Jacinto Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Ricardo Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th match minute, SC Mafomedes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Brás to maneuver through the defense. In the 14thth minute of the game Henrique Lopes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Mafomedes's Vítor Machado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquim Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Machado having to interfere. José Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Joaquim Soares's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Vítor Machado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Diogo Dantas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Matias in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute, João Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Amadeu Brás sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Virtelo's Diogo Dantas didn't even have to move. Ricardo Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Diogo Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albertino Matias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Henrique Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Virtelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henrique Lopes couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute, Henrique Lopes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Basílio Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Virtelo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basílio Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. 36 minutes into the match, Virtelo's Diogo Luz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 39th minute, Albertino Matias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Mafomedes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, SC Mafomedes's José Gonçalves got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Henrique Lopes struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Vítor Machado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virtelo. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Joaquim Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Machado having to interfere. When Henrique Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Virtelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henrique Lopes couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the game, Virtelo's Joaquim Soares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vítor Machado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. With splendid footwork Albertino Matias arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-2 by the left pole in the game's 83rd minute. Vítor Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. SC Mafomedes's Albertino Matias got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
