After a rather tough play, SC Broeiras's António Faria got a free kick in the 8th minute. Jorge Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Antunes in the 11th minute of play. Filipe Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Amaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Adelino Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Jorge Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half SC Surgacaes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adelino Gonçalves to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filipe Antunes got free with Jorge Amaro in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, SC Broeiras's Jorge Amaro got control of the ball when Filipe Antunes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Broeiras's goalkeeper Jorge Amaro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by António Faria during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Surgacaes booed when SC Broeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Surgacaes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filipe Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The SC Broeiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Despite being the better team, SC Surgacaes failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
