Viriato Miranda hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Alexandre Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Bessa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, SC Toninha's goalkeeper Nuno Bessa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexandre Brito. Domingos Morais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Soares was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, SC Bemviuda's goalkeeper Domingos Morais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Cardoso. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Heitor Santarém put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Domingos Morais. The supporters of SC Toninha booed when SC Bemviuda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Toninha had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
