Lourenço Moura's late challenge caught a Passos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ceissa FC's José Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Ceissa FC's Armando Anjos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Pedroso in the 60th minute of play. Gaspar Assunção could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Jorge Soares made a huge save. Álvaro Fontes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 69 minutes into the match. 1-2 came through a penalty shot after 71 played minutes, when Ceissa FC:s Eusébio Pereira calmly waited for Passos:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. The audience was convinced that José Freitas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Soares was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Armando Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ceissa FC's Gaspar Assunção got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Vítor Reis struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Armando Anjos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Passos. The Ceissa FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ceissa FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
