Adolfo Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Mendes in the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Canto getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Henrique Maia hit a great ball. Álvaro Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute, Carlos Pinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the game, SC Canto's Artur Guerreiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adolfo Faria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 17th minute, Aveledo's Álvaro Sousa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rogério Nascimento. Rogério Nascimento yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Augusto Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Aveledo's Augusto Moreira got a free kick in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the match, SC Canto's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Sousa came free, but Rogério Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Carlos Pinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aveledo's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Pinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogério Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rogério Nascimento was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Carlos Pinto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Pinto really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. After a rather tough play, SC Canto's Henrique Maia got a free kick in the 30th minute. Rogério Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Álvaro Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Rogério Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogério Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Mendes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Faria having to interfere. Adolfo Faria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Mendes's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Rogério Nascimento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Álvaro Sousa went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Álvaro Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogério Nascimento was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Carlos Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rogério Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Canto were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Aveledo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eduardo Fonseca took the corner. In the 95th minute Álvaro Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aveledo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
