Marco Setúbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Delgado in the 5th minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Joaquim Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Ferro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Viegas having to interfere. Afonso Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Ferro, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute, Carlos Ferro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Afonso Viegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Vasco Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goncinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Vasco Delgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Setúbal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute Amílcar Viegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Viegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trinhao's goalkeeper Marco Setúbal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marco Setúbal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasco Delgado's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Goncinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trinhao the free kick. After a rather tough play, Goncinha's Rui Vieira got a free kick in the 89th minute. When Amílcar Viegas came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Trinhao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílcar Viegas couldn't finish the play. After 93 played minutes Trinhao got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Domingues. Goncinha's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulo Anjos in the 96th minute. André Vieira made a great header on Goncinha's corner, it was just that Trinhao's Marco Setúbal managed to reach the ball for a save. Goncinha succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Trinhao had controlled the match.
