Samo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapoila FC the free kick. Artur Soares hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. If Carlos Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Carlos Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Dantas was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Rapoila FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Jaime Borba scored to the left of an out of position Filipe Ramos, making the score, 1-0. Samo FC's Paulo Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Porto in the 26th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Rapoila FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Borba came free, but Filipe Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samo FC's Paulo Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Porto in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute Carlos Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jaime Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jaime Borba made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Jacinto Porto fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Lopes got free with Paulo Dantas in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the game, Rapoila FC's Carlos Lopes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Dantas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jacinto Porto struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Paulo Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapoila FC. The supporters of Rapoila FC booed when Samo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Amadeu Anjos from long distance, 72 minutes into the match, got Paulo Dantas's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 75th minute, Carlos Lopes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Carlos Lopes might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Dantas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Lopes ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulo Dantas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Porto in the 84th minute of play.
