The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Henrique Luz's late challenge caught a SC Estribeiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sérgio Azevedo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Daniel Costa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, Sérgio Azevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daniel Costa. SC Ladreda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sérgio Azevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Albertino Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Veiga was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Ladreda! After 32 played minutes SC Ladreda got a freekick which was hit by José Oliveira. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Sérgio Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Costa was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Daniel Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Santos went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute Sérgio Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sérgio Azevedo scored 5-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albertino Pinheiro's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Sérgio Azevedo took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Costa. Daniel Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. 89 minutes into the match, Sérgio Azevedo notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of SC Ladreda's Daniel Costa. Daniel Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
