After a defensive mix-up in SC Paraisal's zone, Rafael Amaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Magalhães came out of the goal and Rafael Amaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Paraisal's goalkeeper Xavier Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vítor Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Paraisal's Jorge Amorim got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of SC Paraisal booed when Corticada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Catarino Assis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vítor Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of SC Paraisal:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corticada:s goal. SC Paraisal's Xavier Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Garcia in the 36th minute of play. Paulo Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Xavier Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Magalhães having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Rafael Amaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Amaro to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Jacinto Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Paraisal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corticada the free kick. Xavier Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Amaro in the 57th minute of the match. Paulo Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Xavier Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 67 minutes, Paulo Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corticada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Resende in the 73rd minute of play forced Corticada's goalkeeper Joaquim Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xavier Magalhães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Garcia went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Garcia got free with Xavier Magalhães in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joaquim Ribeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Ribeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Corticada booed when SC Paraisal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corticada walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
