Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lucas Moura took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Vilas's Fernando Miranda got control of the ball when Ricardo Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 9 played minutes Negreda got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Veiga. Marco Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaime Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Negreda booed when Vilas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Negreda's Jorge Leiria got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Lúcio Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Gaspar in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Negreda's Jorge Leiria got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Negreda's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rodrigo Trindade was slow to take the kick. During this time Vilas's players had a chance to rest. Marco Costa was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Fernando Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Moura in the 41st minute of the match. Ricardo Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Miranda having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Marco Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Negreda's Jaime Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Gaspar in the 54th minute of play. Lúcio Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Pires having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Gaspar in the 60th minute of play forced Negreda's goalkeeper Jaime Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jaime Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 66 played minutes Vilas got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Mendes. Raul Paiva was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Alexandre Amaro hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Jacinto Pereira had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Tiago Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Cristóvão Mendes got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 78 played minutes Vilas got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Mendes. Fernando Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Tavares in the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vilas's zone, Ricardo Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Miranda came out of the goal and Ricardo Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ricardo Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucas Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Miranda having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Marco Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
