Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) After a rather tough play, Escoural's Humberto Correia got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Escoural's goalkeeper Afonso Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Marco Costa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Escoural's Afonso Lopes. Afonso Lopes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquim Moutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Fernando Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st match minute, Escoural was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. If Luís Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Joaquim Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Teixeira in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Miranda saved Vilas from getting behind. Marco Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Humberto Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Luís Teixeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Escoural fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Fernando Miranda came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Escoural's Joaquim Moutinho. But to his dismay, Joaquim Moutinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Escoural were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lúcio Gaspar was the one to do the kick off. Fernando Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Moutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Teixeira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fernando Miranda firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lúcio Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lúcio Gaspar struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Afonso Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilas. Afonso Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Gaspar in the 78th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Vilas got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Mota. Fernando Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Moutinho in the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Marco Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vilas's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Pereira in the 92nd minute of play forced Escoural's goalkeeper Afonso Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Escoural's Joaquim Moutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Costa in the 97th minute of the match. The Escoural supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Escoural would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
