Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Tangil's José Bessa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With 4 minutes on the clock, Fábio Moura commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Regua! Daniel Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolfo Moreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. After 20 played minutes SC Regua got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Bessa. If José Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Catarino Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. José Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Tangil's goalkeeper José Maia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Viegas. After a defensive mix-up in Tangil's zone, Catarino Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maia came out of the goal and Catarino Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Maia made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Jorge Viegas sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Viegas got free with José Maia in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorge Viegas scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Maia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Viegas was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Adolfo Moreira made a huge save. When Jorge Viegas came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the SC Regua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Viegas couldn't finish the play. Daniel Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Regua's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when José Bessa scored to the left of an out of position Adolfo Moreira, making the score, 1-2. After 68 minutes, Eusébio Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Regua and the Tangil players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes SC Regua got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Figueiredo. If José Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Carlos Morais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rdth minute of the game José Bessa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Regua's Adolfo Moreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 75 minutes into the match, SC Regua's goalkeeper Adolfo Moreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Marques. Cristiano Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the game, Carlos Morais was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Regua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tangil the free kick. The supporters of Tangil booed when SC Regua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Morais didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, SC Regua's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Leão came free, but Adolfo Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Tangil supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tangil would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
