After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Adelino Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argivai FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 9 played minutes SC Regua got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Porto. Adolfo Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 12th minute, Catarino Faro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Borba struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Adolfo Moreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argivai FC. After 16 minutes, Henrique Coimbra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Argivai FC and the SC Regua players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Argivai FC's Henrique Coimbra got a free kick in the 16th minute. Adelino Pereira hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Argivai FC's zone, Jorge Viegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Paredes came out of the goal and Jorge Viegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Viegas took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristiano Paredes. Cristiano Paredes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 26th minute Diogo Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Argivai FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Viegas came free, but Cristiano Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, SC Regua's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Pereira came free, but Adolfo Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adelino Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bruno Borba came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Argivai FC fans jumped to their feet. SC Regua's Adolfo Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Pereira in the 34th minute of play. Diogo Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Cristiano Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diogo Paredes scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristiano Paredes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Diogo Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Paredes having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adelino Pereira was the one to do the kick off. If Adelino Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Catarino Faro's late challenge caught a Argivai FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Catarino Faro helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes SC Regua got a freekick which was hit by Catarino Faro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Borba in the 58th minute of play forced SC Regua's goalkeeper Adolfo Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes Argivai FC got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Nogueira. In the 64th minute Bruno Borba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Bruno Borba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argivai FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Borba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruno Borba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Adolfo Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Argivai FC's Cristiano Paredes got control of the ball when Jorge Viegas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Argivai FC's Cristiano Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Paredes in the 72nd minute of play. Jorge Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Paredes having to interfere. Diogo Paredes might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Paredes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diogo Paredes ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Borba in the 87th minute of play forced SC Regua's goalkeeper Adolfo Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Bruno Borba put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Adolfo Moreira. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Regua walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
