Amadeu Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 minutes, Sérgio Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bastelo FC and the SC Ameixial players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Bastelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Faria. In the 45th minute SC Ameixial were awarded a corner. Manuel Machado went to the cornerflag to take it. Gustavo Trindade was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Álvaro Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SC Ameixial booed when Bastelo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viriato Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fernando Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the match, Bastelo FC's goalkeeper Amílcar Valente had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Sousa. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Ameixial walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
