The referee showed Eusébio Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ricardo Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Amaro having to interfere. Delfim Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonçalo Aguiar in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Gonçalo Aguiar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Delfim Amaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 19th minute Eusébio Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
