An unexpected shot in the 7th minute by Gonçalo Aguiar got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 14 minutes into the match, José Maia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amadeu Valente. SC Espariz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Maia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 17 played minutes, Mourelinho's Rui Vaz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amadeu Valente came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mourelinho reached it. José Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the match, SC Espariz's goal looked a bit too open when José Maia came free, but Amadeu Valente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonçalo Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Macedo having to interfere. Ricardo Vale made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 33rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Gonçalo Macedo would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Lúcio Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Valente having to interfere. Gonçalo Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute Gonçalo Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo Aguiar to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Gonçalo Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Espariz's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. SC Espariz's Amadeu Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Lopes in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mourelinho's goalkeeper Gonçalo Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gonçalo Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Gonçalo Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mourelinho's Gonçalo Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Vale in the 68th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gonçalo Aguiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonçalo Macedo was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. After some careless play in the Mourelinho defense, Gonçalo Aguiar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonçalo Macedo. The Mourelinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonçalo Macedo should have stopped the shot. In the 79th minute, Rafael Ferro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88thth minute of the game Gonçalo Aguiar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mourelinho's Gonçalo Macedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
