Paredes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rodrigo Henriques ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Nuno Setúbal got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 8 minutes into the match. Manuel Pinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomás Brito went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Bruno Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paredes! In the 21st minute there was a penalty for SC Beringel. Rodrigo Henriques stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Manuel Pinho. 0-3. Manuel Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Emílio Santarém came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Paredes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Santarém couldn't finish the play. If Bruno Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SC Beringel getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Paulo Leão hit a great ball. Jorge Setúbal charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Setúbal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manuel Pinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jorge Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Paredes's goalkeeper Manuel Pinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Brito. Manuel Pinho made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Tomás Brito sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, SC Beringel's Emanuel Cunha ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manuel Pinho. Manuel Pinho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. SC Beringel's Emanuel Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Beringel! Manuel Pinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Brito in the 74th minute. A collision led to Paredes getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Emílio Santarém hit a great ball. Jorge Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Paredes booed when SC Beringel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Brás charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Brás the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paredes's goalkeeper Manuel Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Paredes supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Beringel's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Beringel.
