Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Piquete's Vasco Monteiro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piquete's goalkeeper David Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 7th minute Vicente Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Piquete's Vasco Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexandre Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Monteiro in the 16th minute of the match. Piquete's David Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Santarém in the 18th minute of play. Miguel Coimbra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Azevedo having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Vasco Monteiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexandre Tavares, 1-0. The supporters of Piquete booed when Dalvares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Piquete's David Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Coimbra in the 28th minute of play. Dalvares FC's Vicente Santarém got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasco Monteiro struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Alexandre Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piquete. Cândido Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandre Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasco Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Vicente Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. David Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonso Figueiredo during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Afonso Figueiredo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vicente Santarém was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Vasco Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandre Tavares. Dalvares FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vasco Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Dalvares FC's Alexandre Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasco Monteiro in the 63rd minute of play. Piquete's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Gaspar Ferro scored to the left of an out of position David Azevedo, making the score, 2-2. Alexandre Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, Vítor Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute of the match Nuno Lopes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Azevedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. David Azevedo came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Dalvares FC's Vicente Santarém. But to his dismay, Vicente Santarém quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cândido Setúbal during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Piquete's Cândido Setúbal got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 90th minute, Vasco Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Vasco Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piquete's supporters rose to their feet, but Vasco Monteiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
