Gaspar Gomes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Pedro Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Gomes having to interfere. Augusto Pires hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Augusto Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Verba! The referee gave SC Saborido a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ricardo Branco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Verba's Gaspar Gomes. 0-2. A collision led to Verba getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Mário Fonseca hit a great ball. Pedro Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes in the game, Filipe Alves fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lourenço Lopes having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Araújo to strike the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Verba fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 53 minutes, SC Saborido's Ricardo Branco got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gaspar Gomes. 57 minutes into the match, Verba's Filipe Alves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lourenço Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gaspar Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Barros in the 60th minute of play. Filipe Alves struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Lourenço Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verba. SC Saborido's Lourenço Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Araújo in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Verba's zone, Pedro Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Gomes came out of the goal and Pedro Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Verba getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Daniel Vale hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Verba's zone, Afonso Jesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Gomes came out of the goal and Afonso Jesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Barros struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Gaspar Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Saborido. Afonso Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Verba supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Saborido's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Saborido.
