Afonso Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Ferro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amílcar Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Joaquim Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Ferro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amílcar Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílcar Costa in the 81st minute of play forced SC Valpedre's goalkeeper José Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Amílcar Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Ferro was a little too slow when Joaquim Baptista got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 1-2. A hard shot 95 in the game by Afonso Luz from a close distance when the talented Júlio Ferro managed to make a qualified save. SC Rebelo's players were relieved.
