When Daniel Alves fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Peliteiros's protests and gave Daniel Alves a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes SC Peliteiros got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Alves. Francisco Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Simões having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Afonso Cardoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Augusto Moutinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Francisco Lopes succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. If Carlos Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Assunção who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Augusto Simões when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 40 minutes into the game, Lourenço Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Peliteiros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guedixe FC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of SC Peliteiros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guedixe FC:s goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Guedixe FC's zone, Francisco Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Simões came out of the goal and Francisco Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Barros in the 55th minute of play forced SC Peliteiros's goalkeeper Augusto Moutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Daniel Alves was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. When Afonso Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Guedixe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Cardoso couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Cardoso got free with Augusto Moutinho in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Assunção in the 77th minute of play forced Guedixe FC's goalkeeper Augusto Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Francisco Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Peliteiros's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Simões breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the game, SC Peliteiros's Carlos Assunção nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Augusto Simões made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. When Afonso Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 90th minute, Carlos Assunção got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Augusto Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Peliteiros's Carlos Assunção got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 94 minutes, Afonso Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guedixe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
