The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SC Forca's Joel Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Morais in the 6th minute of play. Milheiricas's attack was well implemented in the 10th minute, but when Gustavo Morais was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 12th match minute, SC Forca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diogo Ferro to maneuver through the defense. If Gustavo Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Joaquim Maia made a precise shot to the right of Afonso Antunes. Milheiricas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Joaquim Maia's late challenge caught a Milheiricas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Maia helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Milheiricas's Alberto Leiria got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Milheiricas's zone, Joaquim Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Antunes came out of the goal and Joaquim Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Milheiricas's Sandro Esteves got a free kick in the 28th minute. Afonso Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Maia hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Sandro Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Joel Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Artur Araújo made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Artur Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Forca's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute, Adelino Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Trindade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Tavares having to interfere. Artur Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play.
