Heitor Pereira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jaime Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Alves having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Sandro Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Variz FC and the SC Golega players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Variz FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Sandro Nunes hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Heitor Pereira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodrigo Faro skillfully saved the ball. In the 25th minute Cristiano Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Faro having to interfere. Armindo Nogueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Abel Alves made a huge save. In the 33rd match minute, SC Golega was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Martins to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 35 minutes, Armindo Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Variz FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodrigo Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Mota in the 40th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Barbosa to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Armindo Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Armindo Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Abel Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Nogueira in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Nogueira in the 74th minute of play forced SC Golega's goalkeeper Abel Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Jaime Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abel Alves. SC Golega's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Jaime Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Abel Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Martins hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Jaime Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Variz FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Variz FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
