The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Afonso Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Afonso Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when David Porto made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Heitor Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Negrais's supporters rose to their feet, but Heitor Torres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Negrais's José Figueiredo got control of the ball when António Jesus tried to sneak it across the goal line. If António Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Negrais's zone, David Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Figueiredo came out of the goal and David Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. António Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Heitor Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Afonso Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Fernando Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when António Jesus got free with José Figueiredo in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Avoes FC's zone, Sebastião Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Barbosa came out of the goal and Sebastião Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute Heitor Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Negrais were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Avoes FC for a fine match.
