Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) SC Codes's Sebastião Resende started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. João Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Queirós having to interfere. When Delfim Correia fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grada FC's protests and gave Delfim Correia a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Codes booed when Grada FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delfim Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Luz hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Codes's Paulo Henriques tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Grada FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Delfim Correia hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Grada FC's José Paredes got a free kick in the 25th minute. José Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joel Nogueira during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SC Codes getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Joel Nogueira hit a great ball. When Vicente Paredes fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Oliveira Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Joel Nogueira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oliveira Melo. Joel Nogueira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Hugo Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Oliveira Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Grada FC booed when SC Codes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Resende didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute José Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Viana was the one to do the kick off. João Viana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Jorge Queirós made a huge save. After some careless play in the Grada FC defense, Hugo Bessa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oliveira Melo. The Grada FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oliveira Melo should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute of the game, João Viana landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Marco Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marco Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Grada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Bessa came free, but Oliveira Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Luz's late challenge caught a SC Codes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Luz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd minute of the match Paulo Henriques shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oliveira Melo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Grada FC's zone, Hugo Bessa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliveira Melo came out of the goal and Hugo Bessa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Codes's Hugo Bessa got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
