SC Ardegao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Gondim the free kick. In the 20th minute, Fernando Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Alexandre Porto struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Carlos Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Gondim. SC Gondim's Adolfo Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Ardegao's Carlos Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Porto in the 27th minute of play. Gaspar Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Daniel Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Gaspar Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Ardegao's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaspar Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th match minute, SC Gondim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Viriato Reis hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. SC Gondim's Daniel Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save SC Gondim from getting a goal against them. Alexandre Esteves charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexandre Esteves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The goalkeeper, Daniel Pires, was totally fooled by SC Ardegao's Cristiano Silva, who 47 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When SC Ardegao's Sérgio Carvalho in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Gondim's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adolfo Pereira in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60thth minute of the game Adolfo Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Ardegao's Carlos Rocha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolfo Pereira's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Daniel Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Rocha made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Alexandre Porto sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of SC Gondim booed when SC Ardegao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Neto in the 83rd minute of the match. Carlos Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sérgio Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Daniel Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alexandre Porto came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the SC Gondim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Porto couldn't finish the play. SC Gondim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
