In the 17thth minute of the game David Gomes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Gondoriz's Rui Aguiar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cristiano Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Manuel Brito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rodrigo Fernandes. That made the score 3-0 in the 24 minute of play. In the 33rd minute, SC Gondoriz's Manuel Brito ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rodrigo Fernandes. Rodrigo Fernandes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Miguel Anjos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodrigo Fernandes having to make a save. Rui Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Pedro Leão's late challenge caught a Santana FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Leão helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SC Gondoriz getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Pedro Leão hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Cristiano Figueiredo put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rui Aguiar. Armando Pedroso missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 48 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Rodrigo Fernandes right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Rodrigo Fernandes had in the 55thth minute some difficulties stopping Armando Pedroso's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When SC Gondoriz's Miguel Anjos in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santana FC's goalie prevented a goal. 60 minutes into the game, Marco Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santana FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Gondoriz the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of Santana FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Gondoriz:s goal. Manuel Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Rodrigo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Santana FC got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Correia. Tiago Leão struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Rodrigo Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Gondoriz. Basílio Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basílio Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Gondoriz's Basílio Lima got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Santana FC's Nuno Paiva broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. David Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Aguiar having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Gomes got free with Rui Aguiar in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute, Lúcio Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
