But to his dismay, Eusébio Leal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When André Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Patroves fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Veiga couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Patroves's goalkeeper Inácio Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Leal. João Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Alves in the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Taboadela's Emanuel Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Inácio Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Inácio Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusébio Leal in the 25th minute. In the 45th minute, Emanuel Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The Taboadela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Correia should have stopped the shot. If Eusébio Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute.
