Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Mário Fontes got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute, Eusébio Correia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Escamarao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The supporters of SC Machico booed when SC Escamarao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, SC Escamarao's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Fontes came free, but Carlos Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Moutinhos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Gaspar Gaspar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gaspar Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Moutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Luís Moutinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Escamarao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Machico the free kick. After 19 played minutes SC Escamarao got a freekick which was hit by Luís Moutinho. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Faro in the 23rd minute of play forced SC Escamarao's goalkeeper Carlos Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mário Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Leão having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Moutinho in the 27th minute of play forced SC Machico's goalkeeper Gaspar Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Leão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Faro's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. When Joaquim Tavares fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Escamarao's protests and gave Joaquim Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, SC Escamarao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Tavares to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Moutinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. SC Escamarao's Carlos Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save SC Escamarao from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute Mário Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th match minute, SC Escamarao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertino Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. After 59 minutes, Albertino Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Escamarao and the SC Machico players grew even worse after the yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, SC Machico's Cristiano Rodrigues tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, SC Escamarao's goalkeeper Carlos Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Faro. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mário Fontes in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Leão saved SC Escamarao from getting behind. Mário Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Carlos Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SC Machico booed when SC Escamarao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Rodrigues shot from long distance in the 69th minute, but Carlos Leão was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Carlos Leão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gaspar Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Correia in the 81st minute of play forced SC Machico's goalkeeper Gaspar Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, André Faro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Leão. SC Escamarao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Faro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 87 minutes, Eusébio Correia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Escamarao and the SC Machico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eusébio Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Viriato Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Viriato Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gaspar Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Correia in the 90th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Escamarao had won after a very even match.
