André Moniz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of André Garcia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Montijos FC's zone, André Moniz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Garcia came out of the goal and André Moniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Paulo Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montijos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fábio Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodrigo Machado charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodrigo Machado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Amílcar Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Montijos FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Raul Magalhães hit a great ball. André Moniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. André Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fábio Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amílcar Amaral in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, SC Badamalos's Viriato Queirós dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 48 minutes into the match, André Moniz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of André Garcia. Montijos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Moniz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viriato Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, SC Badamalos's Fábio Rocha got control of the ball when Amílcar Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Moniz in the 57th minute of play forced Montijos FC's goalkeeper André Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Jesus struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Fábio Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montijos FC. After having played for 65 minutes, Viriato Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Badamalos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viriato Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Castro succeeded in the game's 72nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Rafael Figueiredo hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. SC Badamalos's André Moniz got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Rodrigo Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amílcar Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Rocha having to interfere. Paulo Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94thth minute of the game Paulo Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Badamalos's Fábio Rocha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paulo Castro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Fábio Rocha 99 minutes into the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
