A collision led to Aroal getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Miguel Moreira hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Capeludos FC's Sérgio Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Barros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10th minute David Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Capeludos FC's Cristóvão Oliveira got a free kick in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Capeludos FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Antunes came free, but Lúcio Aleixo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 minutes, Artur Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capeludos FC and the Aroal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 played minutes Capeludos FC got a freekick which was hit by Artur Figueiredo. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, David Antunes put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lúcio Aleixo. Sérgio Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Nuno Barros made a huge save. After having played for 34 minutes, Heitor Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aroal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lúcio Aleixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Aroal's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Silva came free, but Nuno Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nuno Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristóvão Oliveira in the 40th minute of play. David Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Aleixo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Sousa during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lúcio Aleixo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Antunes went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After the first half Aroal were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Antunes was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Capeludos FC's Sérgio Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 57 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Oliveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capeludos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aroal the free kick. After 57 played minutes Capeludos FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Oliveira. Heitor Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 65 minutes, David Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aroal's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aroal's Heitor Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sérgio Vale fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capeludos FC's protests and gave Sérgio Vale a yellow card for diving instead. Sérgio Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Vale in the 75th minute of play forced Aroal's goalkeeper Nuno Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Daniel Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capeludos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Sérgio Vale sped through Aroal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nuno Barros. Lúcio Aleixo was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and David Antunes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. David Antunes really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. After 92 minutes of play Capeludos FC's Cristóvão Oliveira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Catarino Neto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lúcio Aleixo. Capeludos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lúcio Aleixo made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Heitor Martins sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Barros having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
