The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Garcia during the 6th minute. Armindo Lisboa scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of António Reis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Zebreira's Armindo Lisboa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of António Reis. That made the score 3-0 after 21 minutes of play. With his leg António Reis managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Zebreira's Armindo Lisboa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alberto Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amadeu Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers António Leal in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Martins saved Zebreira from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armindo Lisboa got free with António Reis in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Pedroso made a kick off. Alberto Veigas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Luís Martins to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Fernando Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tourega FC's protests and gave Fernando Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tourega FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Fernando Gomes hit a great ball. Zebreira's Mariano Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alberto Veiga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luís Martins firmly grabbed it by the left post. Amadeu Figueiredo's late challenge caught a Tourega FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeu Figueiredo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Alberto Veiga fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.
