The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gontariz's Pedro Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cândido Cabral in the 11th minute of play. João Amaro charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Amaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Amaro hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Eusébio Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Pedro Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Irivo's Viriato Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Lima in the 20th minute of play. In the 30th play minute Eusébio Gonçalves came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedro Sá. 1-0. Joel Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72nd minute of the match Filipe Ferreira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Sá skillfully saved the ball. Cândido Cabral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Sá read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, SC Irivo's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Viana came free, but Viriato Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gontariz players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Irivo.
