Pedro Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Amaral having to interfere. Manuel Branco's late challenge caught a Ataes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Branco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th match minute, Rodizio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Branco to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th match minute, Rodizio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Pedro Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Veiga took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Amaral. Paulo Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Paulo Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Rodizio getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Carlos Aguiar hit a great ball. In the 36th minute of the match Ataes FC got a corner. Rodizio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abel Vaz ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well done corner resulted in Pedro Gaspar drilling the ball in to score 0-2 behind Rodizio's goalkeeper. A collision led to Ataes FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Emanuel Correia hit a great ball. The nice shot from Inácio Marques in the 43rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Gustavo Rodrigues had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 47th minute Pedro Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Marques in the 55th minute of play forced Ataes FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute, Gonçalo Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, Paulo Lisboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rodizio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ataes FC the free kick. Inácio Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Cristiano Veiga notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Rodizio's Paulo Amaral. Paulo Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedro Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristiano Veiga struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Paulo Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ataes FC. In the 93rd match minute, Ataes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Óscar Leite to maneuver through the defense. If Inácio Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the game, Rodizio's Inácio Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Rodrigues made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4.
