In the 4th minute Amílcar Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Caruncho FC's Amílcar Paredes in the 7th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Paulo Amaral was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Rodizio through an amazing save. Paulo Amaral made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Vicente Correia sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute of the match, Vicente Correia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Paulo Amaral was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vicente Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Amaral having to interfere. If Inácio Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caruncho FC's Catarino Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Marques in the 21st minute of play. When Cláudio Dias fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caruncho FC's protests and gave Cláudio Dias a yellow card for diving instead. After 25 minutes, Amílcar Paredes made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rodizio's Paulo Amaral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Amílcar Paredes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Amaral having to make a save. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rodizio's goalkeeper Paulo Amaral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caruncho FC's Marco Baptista shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 37th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Paulo Amaral but with some difficulty. When Rui Moniz fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caruncho FC's protests and gave Rui Moniz a yellow card for diving instead.
