In the 5th minute, José Moniz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bruno Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Rogério Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Francisco Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SC Barrateiras booed when Cainheiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Óscar Porto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cainheiras's Francisco Setúbal. Francisco Setúbal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 17 minutes into the match, SC Barrateiras's goalkeeper Bruno Luz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Guerreiro. A collision led to SC Barrateiras getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Óscar Porto hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Barrateiras's zone, André Guerreiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Luz came out of the goal and André Guerreiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Guerreiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bruno Luz firmly grabbed it by the left post. 26 minutes into the match, SC Barrateiras's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Fernandes came free, but Bruno Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, André Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cainheiras's Alberto Brás got a free kick in the 31st minute. Hélder Tavares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Bruno Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Fernandes in the 35th minute of play. Catarino Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 43 minutes SC Barrateiras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jacinto Antunes who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Jacinto Antunes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Barrateiras's Bruno Luz did a great save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diogo Fernandes was the one to do the kick off. André Guerreiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Luz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. A collision led to SC Barrateiras getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Jacinto Borba hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, André Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. André Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Diogo Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rdth minute of the game André Guerreiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Barrateiras's Bruno Luz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 65th minute, André Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 71 played minutes Cainheiras got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Antunes. Francisco Setúbal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute Rogério Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Faro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Diogo Fernandes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Bruno Luz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 88 minutes, José Moniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cainheiras and the SC Barrateiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rogério Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 92 in the game by Paulo Faro from a close distance when the talented Francisco Setúbal managed to make a qualified save. Cainheiras's players were relieved. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
