Fajozes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mugideira the free kick. The supporters of Mugideira booed when Fajozes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute of the match, Daniel Marques got a very nice opportunity to score, but Daniel Lopes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Humberto Brito hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 80 played minutes Mugideira got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Abreu. The long shot by Vicente Pinheiro in the 81st minute really tested Pedro Pacheco's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Nuno Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute Daniel Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mugideira had won after a very even match.
