Carvicaes's Raul Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Gonçalves in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Adelino Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joaquim Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cunhedo FC's Sérgio Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Cunhedo FC from getting a goal against them. Cristóvão Barros's late challenge caught a Carvicaes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristóvão Barros helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cunhedo FC's Cristóvão Barros got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Carvicaes's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Gonçalves came free, but Raul Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandre Viana hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Joaquim Gonçalves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cunhedo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 37th minute, one of Cunhedo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cunhedo FC. The goalkeeper, Sérgio Neves, was totally fooled by Carvicaes's José Sá, who 39 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Cunhedo FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jaime Viegas hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cunhedo FC's zone, José Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Neves came out of the goal and José Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raul Faro made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Joaquim Gonçalves sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute, Emílio Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio Nascimento in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sérgio Neves saved Cunhedo FC from getting behind. Sérgio Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Joaquim Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Faro having to interfere. Alexandre Viana hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Cunhedo FC's Rogério Campos got a free kick in the 83rd minute. When Luís Viana came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Cunhedo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Viana couldn't finish the play. Emílio Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adelino Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Sérgio Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emílio Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Neves having to interfere.
