Ribeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simão Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Simão Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Brito. SC Abitureiras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simão Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Rui Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Sousa in the 93rd minute of the match. Adolfo Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Brito having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ribeiras fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Abitureiras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
