Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Diogo Mendes got the match started through his kick off. Marco Vale's late challenge caught a Murganhal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Vale helped the player get up and apologised. Marco Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Joaquim Vale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomás Matos. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. João Resende struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Tomás Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murganhal. During the 9th minute of the match Marco Vale completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marco Vale a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Marco Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When Murganhal's Joaquim Vale in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rendo FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Delfim Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rendo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Moutinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joaquim Vale hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Carlos Miranda struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Augusto Moutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rendo FC. In the 26th minute, Diogo Mendes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Augusto Moutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Augusto Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Delfim Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Augusto Moutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Rendo FC's Joaquim Coelho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Joaquim Coelho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rendo FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joaquim Coelho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Joaquim Vale made the kick off in the second half. Tomás Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Melo in the 60th minute of play. Adolfo Setúbal's late challenge caught a Murganhal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Setúbal helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rendo FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Adolfo Setúbal hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artur Melo in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Matos saved Rendo FC from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Rendo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Melo came free, but Tomás Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diogo Mendes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 70th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Rendo FC's zone, Joaquim Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Matos came out of the goal and Joaquim Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Rendo FC's Diogo Mendes got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Joaquim Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Rendo FC defense, Artur Melo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Matos. The Rendo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Matos should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Murganhal booed when Rendo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Artur Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rendo FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
