Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) SC Montezelo's Vicente Sá started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rendo FC's Tomás Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Sá in the 4th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Diogo Mendes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Montezelo's Pedro Fernandes. Pedro Fernandes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedro Fernandes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Rendo FC's Delfim Melo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Afonso Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Miranda hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The corner led SC Montezelo's Xavier Monteiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Tomás Matos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Delfim Melo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Fernandes. SC Montezelo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delfim Melo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Delfim Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Rendo FC's zone, Vicente Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Matos came out of the goal and Vicente Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonso Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Tomás Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diogo Mendes to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Afonso Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Montezelo's Pedro Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Mendes in the 63rd minute of play. SC Montezelo's Pedro Fernandes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save SC Montezelo from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Rendo FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. João Delgado hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Xavier Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Matos. Rendo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xavier Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Delfim Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rendo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amílcar Queirós's late challenge caught a Rendo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amílcar Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Montezelo! Diogo Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Fernandes having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Delgado during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for SC Montezelo. Xavier Monteiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tomás Matos. 3-3. Rendo FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though SC Montezelo had controlled the match.
