A collision led to Raposo getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Hugo Maia hit a great ball. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Vasco Freitas advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 6th minute. If Cristiano Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 15th minute, Cristiano Brito fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gil Cunha charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gil Cunha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 16 minutes into the game, one of Palmeira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jacinto Reis placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When Palmeira's Vasco Freitas in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Raposo's goalie prevented a goal. Tomás Vieira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasco Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Cristóvão Figueiredos short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Pedro Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 36 minutes into the match, Palmeira's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Brito came free, but Pedro Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Brito in the 40th minute of play forced Palmeira's goalkeeper Pedro Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Palmeira were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vasco Freitas to make the kick off. Bernardo Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Raposo's goalkeeper Tomás Vieira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 64 in the game by Bernardo Assis from a close distance when the talented Tomás Vieira managed to make a qualified save. Raposo's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Figueiredo in the 66th minute of play forced Palmeira's goalkeeper Pedro Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeira's zone, Cristiano Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Esteves came out of the goal and Cristiano Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacinto Reis hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Raposo's zone, Viriato Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Vieira came out of the goal and Viriato Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Eusébio Rodrigues ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Esteves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Tomás Vieira made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Bernardo Assis sent off a good shot on target. Tomás Vieira acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 95th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Armindo Silva. For all the effort they put into the match, the Palmeira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Raposo.
