When Vítor Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Pelma FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Coelho couldn't finish the play. Paulo Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Óscar Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Pelma FC booed when Gateira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adelino Jesus did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Óscar Porto 32 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the game, Vasco Setúbal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pelma FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gateira FC the free kick. After 35 played minutes Pelma FC got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Setúbal. After having played for 36 minutes, Daniel Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gateira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Júlio Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júlio Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adelino Jesus to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Pelma FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Veiga fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nuno Ferreira was a little too slow when Daniel Leal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 2-1. Daniel Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Ferreira having to interfere. Gustavo Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Pelma FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Miranda. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Carvalho during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gateira FC booed when Pelma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Coelho was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Paulo Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Óscar Porto having to make a save. After 91 minutes, Gonçalo Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pelma FC and the Gateira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonçalo Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Óscar Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Júlio Silva was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 96 minutes had been played.
