Teixogueiras's Rui Jesus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Guarda in the 27th minute of play. Jorge Gomes made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Miguel Gueifão sent off a good shot on target. After 34 minutes, Delfim Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Mortena and the Teixogueiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Mortena's Delfim Cunha got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 35th minute, Teixogueiras's Álvaro Cunha ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorge Gomes. Jorge Gomes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Rui Jesus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Matias in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, SC Mortena's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Cunha came free, but Jorge Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Álvaro Cunha made a kick off. After 58 played minutes Teixogueiras got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Gueifão. A collision led to SC Mortena getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Amílcar Borges hit a great ball. Jorge Gomes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Teixogueiras's Álvaro Cunha shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. The supporters of Teixogueiras booed when SC Mortena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Mortena's Jorge Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Cunha in the 72nd minute of play. Alfredo Henriques hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Teixogueiras's goalkeeper Rui Jesus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandro Guarda. Sandro Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Teixogueiras fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Mortena had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
