Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Samarda's Cristiano Mota started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, João Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gemieira's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jacinto Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Sandro Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Diamantino Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14thth minute of the game Diamantino Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Samarda's Sandro Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Samarda's goal looked a bit too open when João Antunes came free, but Sandro Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gemieira's goalkeeper Adelino Trindade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Diamantino Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samarda's Sandro Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Antunes in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Samarda's Alexandre Nascimento got a free kick in the 30th minute. The audience was convinced that João Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sandro Porto was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. With a little luck, Gemieira's Adelino Trindade got control of the ball when Jacinto Vale tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacinto Vale's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Antunes made a kick off. When Pedro Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gemieira's protests and gave Pedro Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gemieira getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Pedro Macedo hit a great ball. Diamantino Cruz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Sandro Porto made a huge save. With a little luck, Samarda's Sandro Porto got control of the ball when Diamantino Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Gemieira's Diamantino Cruz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sandro Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Diamantino Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Gonçalves lost his temper 83 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Samarda fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Samarda defense, Diamantino Cruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandro Porto. The Samarda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandro Porto should have stopped the shot. Gemieira's Adelino Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Nascimento in the 96th minute of play. João Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samarda's Sandro Porto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 103rd minute of the match, managed to save Samarda from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gemieira eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
