Gemieira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Porteirinhos the free kick. The supporters of Porteirinhos booed when Gemieira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute, João Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diamantino Cruz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Jorge Barros made a huge save. Jorge Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Gemieira's zone, Ricardo Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adelino Trindade came out of the goal and Ricardo Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Júlio Assis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Porteirinhos's Armando Amaro in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gemieira's goalie prevented a goal. Diamantino Cruzs short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Jorge Barros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Antunes to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Ricardo Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Porteirinhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Porto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Diamantino Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Vítor Cardoso notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Porteirinhos's Jorge Barros. Jorge Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 66th minute of the match David Delgado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adelino Trindade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Domingos Luz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adelino Trindade. Gemieira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingos Luz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Domingos Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adelino Trindade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Porto in the 80th minute of play. The supporters of Gemieira booed when Porteirinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adelino Trindade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Porto in the 88th minute of the match. Jorge Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 95th minute Ricardo Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adelino Trindade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 96th minute of the match Pedro Macedo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pedro Macedo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 97th minute, Pedro Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
