Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Ribeiro started the match with the kick off. Raul Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Fábio Barros took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vicente Martins. Vicente Martins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Estarreja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Sargacal booed when Estarreja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Estarreja FC's Vicente Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Barros in the 16th minute of play. Fábio Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Vicente Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Sargacal's goalkeeper Raul Magalhães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuel Abreu. Cristiano Teixeira hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Carlos Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sargacal getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Filipe Trindade hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the game, Carlos Ribeiro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raul Magalhães. Carlos Ribeiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 37th minute, Afonso Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sargacal's Amílcar Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfredo Vale charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Vale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alfredo Vale hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Sargacal's Raul Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Sargacal from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fábio Barros was the one to do the kick off. Manuel Carvalho was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 52 minutes into the match. 51 minutes into the game, one of Estarreja FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for Sargacal. Sebastião Torres stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vicente Martins. 1-2. After having played for 58 minutes, Fábio Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sargacal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vicente Martins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amílcar Henriques in the 63rd minute. Amílcar Henriques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Vicente Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, José Setúbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Sargacal's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Abreu came free, but Raul Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Sargacal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sargacal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
