With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cândido Brás in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Paiva saved Arnozelo from getting behind. When Jorge Amaro came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Arnozelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Amaro couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Jorge Amaro put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Henrique Gaspar. Afonso Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Gaspar having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Canhestres's Cândido Aguiar got a free kick in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Arnozelo's Afonso Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henrique Gaspar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henrique Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Lima in the 28th minute of the match. If Oliveira Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd play minute Cândido Brás came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedro Paiva. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Afonso Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arnozelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrique Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cândido Brás was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Afonso Lima notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Canhestres's Henrique Gaspar. Henrique Gaspar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Afonso Lima got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Pedro Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cândido Brás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cândido Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Paiva having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Arnozelo's Jorge Amaro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 84th minute, Mariano Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Afonso Lima came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Arnozelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Lima couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Arnozelo's Diamantino Cabral got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Arnozelo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Arnozelo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
