The supporters of Alandroal booed when Comporta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xavier Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nuno Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alandroal's protests and gave Nuno Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Comporta booed when Alandroal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Mário Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. António Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mário Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Fonseca having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Américo Anjos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Comporta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alandroal the free kick. 26 minutes into the match, Comporta's goalkeeper António Fonseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xavier Matos. After 28 played minutes Alandroal got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Guerreiro. In the 29th minute Adolfo Coimbra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. João Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Coimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Mário Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without António Fonseca having to make a save. Comporta's Adolfo Coimbra got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Alandroal's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Coimbra came free, but João Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier Matos couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basílio Cabral was the one to do the kick off. João Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Cabral in the 56th minute of play. Adolfo Coimbra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alandroal's João Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Cabral in the 62nd minute of play. Comporta's Basílio Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. António Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Matos in the 70th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Augusto Brás hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sérgio Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Adolfo Coimbra put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of João Correia. Sérgio Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
