The audience was convinced that Pedro Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Paredes was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Encourados FC's Luís Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Azevedo in the 16th minute of play. Luís Paredes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristiano Paiva's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. A collision led to Encourados FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ricardo Vieira hit a great ball. Óscar Fonseca took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Paredes. Encourados FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Bento Reis fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Encourados FC's protests and gave Bento Reis a yellow card for diving instead. Bento Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Cristiano Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Bencatel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Paiva in the 30th minute of play. Ricardo Vieira hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Luís Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Paiva in the 35th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Adelino Tavares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amadeu Paiva. That made the score 3-0 in the 37 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bento Reis got free with Amadeu Paiva in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Azevedo to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Encourados FC's Bento Reis got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Cristiano Paiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Paredes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristiano Paiva got free with Luís Paredes in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, SC Bencatel's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Reis came free, but Amadeu Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Cristiano Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Bencatel's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paredes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd match minute, Encourados FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Martins to maneuver through the defense. Encourados FC's Luís Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Azevedo in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Encourados FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Tavares to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bento Reis in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amadeu Paiva saved SC Bencatel from getting behind. Adelino Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Amadeu Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bento Reis struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Amadeu Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Encourados FC. Luís Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Azevedo in the 96th minute of play.
